SKETCHURE Explores the Future of Workplace Design

Share:

The future of workplace design lies in understanding how people interact with their surroundings and how thoughtfully designed spaces can support well-being, encourage collaboration, and enhance everyday experiences. As workplace expectations evolve, the conversation continues to move beyond aesthetics toward creating environments that balance functionality, identity, and human needs.

At SKETCHURE, we believe that staying connected to these evolving perspectives is essential to creating meaningful interior environments. In October 2026, two industry gatherings offered valuable opportunities to explore these ideas: the SCAS Lunch & Learn on 13 October and the T&D Design and Sedus celebration on 17 October.

From healthier, human-centered spaces to innovation in workplace solutions, both occasions reinforced the importance of thoughtful design, knowledge exchange, and collaboration in shaping the future of work.

Exploring Human-Centered Workplace Design at SCAS

On 13 October 2026, the SCAS Lunch & Learn brought together industry professionals to explore the relationship between interior environments, human well-being, and workplace design.

Featuring Matt Morley of Biofilico, the session focused on healthy buildings, biophilic design, and human-centered approaches to creating more supportive spaces.

The discussions highlighted how elements such as natural light, air quality, acoustics, material selection, and connections with nature can influence the way people experience their surroundings. These considerations play an important role in creating workplaces that feel comfortable, function effectively, and respond to the needs of their occupants.

At SKETCHURE, we see workplace interior design as an integrated process in which spatial planning, materiality, functionality, and user experience work together to shape the overall environment. Exploring approaches to healthy and biophilic design offers valuable perspectives on how interior spaces can support people beyond their immediate functional requirements.

The session also provided an opportunity to exchange ideas with fellow professionals and engage with the growing role of wellness and sustainability in contemporary interior design.

Celebrating Workplace Innovation with T&D Design & Sedus

On 17 October 2026, SKETCHURE’s CEO, Mahmoud Zohny, attended a special evening hosted by T&D Design and Sedus, celebrating a significant milestone in their longstanding partnership and the local assembly of the se chair in Egypt.

The gathering brought together industry leaders, designers, and distinguished guests to celebrate collaboration and explore developments shaping the future of workplace solutions.

The evening featured a special film documenting the partnership’s journey, followed by a panel discussion with leading designers and industry professionals. The discussion created an opportunity to exchange perspectives on the changing workplace and the role of collaboration in responding to evolving professional needs.

The local assembly milestone also highlighted the value of combining international expertise with local capabilities, demonstrating how partnerships can contribute to the development of workplace solutions that bring together quality, functionality, and thoughtful design.

For the interior design industry, developments in workplace furniture and solutions remain an important part of the wider design conversation. Furniture, spatial planning, and the needs of the people using a space must work together to create environments that are both purposeful and adaptable.

The celebration continued with music, entertainment, and opportunities to connect with professionals across the design community, strengthening the relationships that encourage new ideas and continued industry development.

One Shared Direction: Designing for People

While each event approached workplace design from a different perspective, both highlighted the importance of understanding people and the environments in which they work.

The SCAS Lunch & Learn explored the relationship between healthy buildings, biophilic design, and human well-being. The T&D Design and Sedus celebration highlighted workplace innovation, product development, and the value of collaboration across the industry.

Together, these perspectives reflect a broader shift in workplace interior design. Offices are no longer defined solely by their layouts or visual identity; they are environments that must respond to changing work patterns, support interaction, and create meaningful experiences for their occupants.

Achieving this requires a holistic design approach, where spatial planning, furniture, materials, lighting, and functionality are considered as interconnected elements of a cohesive environment.

At SKETCHURE, this understanding informs our perspective on creating interiors that balance design intent with practical needs, bringing together aesthetics, functionality, and the experience of the people who use each space.
