Senior Planning & Contracts Engineer



SKETCHURE is seeking a a highly motivated and experienced Senior Planning & Contracts Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for leading and managing all planning and contract-related activities for the company.

Responsibilities:

Planning:

  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using industry-standard planning software (e.g., Primavera P6, Microsoft Project).
  • Analyze project progress, identify potential delays, and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Monitor resource allocation and track project performance against established KPIs.
  • Prepare and present project progress reports to management and stakeholders.
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop contingency plans to address potential challenges.

Contracts:

  • Review and analyze contracts with clients, subcontractors, and vendors.
  • Ensure compliance with contract terms and conditions.
  • Manage contract variations, claims, and disputes.
  • Provide legal and contractual advice to project teams.
  • Monitor and control contract costs to ensure project profitability.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development of project budgets and forecasts.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure project success.
  • Stay abreast of industry best practices in project planning and contract management.
  • Mentor and guide junior planning and contracts engineers.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering Construction Management from an accredited university.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in project planning and contracts management with a strong focus on fit-out and high-end finishing sector.
  • Proficiency in using planning software (e.g., Primavera P6, Microsoft Project), contract management software, and other relevant software tools.
  • Strong understanding of contract law, procurement regulations, and dispute resolution procedures.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex data and identify potential issues.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team environment.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively with the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Detail-oriented with a keen eye for design and aesthetics.
  • Positive attitude and a willingness to learn.
